  1. Here's the story:
Friend calls me about getting his laptop connected to the internet via a wireless access point. To make a long story short, I figured out that his Norton A/V software blocked all his ports on his internet PC which disallowed me to set up the WAP. I resolved that and was able to see the MAC address of the WAP. However, the install program crashes after you try to select "yes" to change some parameters. I tried it on another computer and it did the same thing. A windows error occurs (you know, the kind about program executing at address 000AAACCC, etc, etc). I think something may be wrong with his install disk but I can't find install software on Linksys' site for download. I'm left loking for another disk or someone who has one already. Anyone have any other ideas?

fmctm1sw, exactly what install program are you having trouble with. Typically the access point would be configured with your internet browser pointed to some NAT address (like 192.168.0.1). I usually don't even use the install disks that come with wireless cards, access points, or routers (unless you need the wireless card drivers, of course).

Can you give a little more informaton.
