  1. I am creating a DVD out of approximately 60 short clips from various sources. I have already converted them to DVD compliant files.

So, what I have is a bunch of *.m2v and *.ac3 files, and I would like to combine them all into one *.m2v and one *.ac3 file, then author the dvd, and use chapter breaks

What program should be used for combining the files?

note: the videos are all encoded as follows...
    MPEG-2 (duh) CBR @ 4000kbps
    Dolby Digital AC3 stereo CBR @ 224kbps

  2. Let your authoring program join them for you. TmpGenc DVD Author od DVD-Lab are just two options for this.

If you really must join them before authoring, I would suggest Womble mpeg video wizard.

DVD Lab won't join them. It will treat them as seperate titles.

DVD Lab Pro has a new option called Movie Segments which will join them, but you can't set chapter points.

Persoanlly, I would have done all the editing becore any encoding. However now that the horse has long bolted, I would look at the trial version of tmpgenc DVD Author as a good starting point.

TMPGEnc_DVD_Author will join them , but there will be slight pauzes at each segment when played back on a DVD player.

Mpeg2Schnitt will join the segments properly.
I have done it several times without problems.

To get rid of this, delete the automatic chapter point TDA inserts at the start of each subsequent clip
    If in doubt, Google it.

  7. Okay, I've used TMPGEnc DVD Author to author the disc. It combined them and created chapter points just as I had wanted.

Just too bad i can no longer use the program after 30 days...

    I tried that.
    That does NOT work!!
When i join the parts with Mpeg2Schnitt and author afterwards it plays smoothly.
    I also discussed that here:
