  1. I am wondering if there are free dvd decoders to download to play dvd on the computer? I used to have powerdvd but i cant seem to find the cd to install. It seems like all the sites want you to buy it. Can anyone help?

    Don't think that MPEG2 decoding in ffdshow was working way back in 2002.

    the dscaler5 mpeg filter is good. there is the GPL MPEG 1/2 Decoder also.

  10. I also recommend "media player classic" (mpc). It's a very good general all-purpose player that plays most files with no hassles and will also play DVD's.
