Hey everybody, trying to find out if getting hte sbe certification is worth it. I'm in the air force and recently completed my 3 level training at Ft. Meade for 2e1x4 visual imagery and intrusion detection systems. The last half of the training is all about video equipment and transmision systems vtrs stuff like that, and at the end of it if you make an 85 or better you dont have to take the test for the "Broadcast Networking Technologist Certification" from the Society Of Broadcast Engineers, just gotta pay 68 dollars for a membership or dues or something. http://www.sbe.org/
Ive gotten mixed reports about it being worth anything. Some people say its worth an extra 10g's at non military jobs. Id love some input about this from anyone, espicaly anyone who has it.

I work for the military, so I can't speak of non-military jobs. But any and all little pieces of paper saying you passed a BS test or have this degree will only earn you more money if you work for the government. Does it mean you know anything more? No. It just menas you jumped through some hoops so you get paid more.
