G4 (PCI) upgraded to 500 mghz and 768 memory
    10.3.9
Toast 6.0.9 and also tried 6.1
    Reinstalled QT 6.5.2 (had 7.0.1)
    Using a Lacie (pioneer 106) ext DVD-RW

When I try to record a Video_TS file, using DATA-ROM (UDF), toast starts up and then freezes after a second or two. It also freezes on abort. Did this on QT 7.0.1 so I reinstalled - no change
tried sony and verbatim discs; anyone need a dozen coasters?
all was well on 10.3.7 and 6.0.7

Now here's the buggy part - I checked these trashed discs on disc info after a restart and toast says they were Data: Iso 9660 and not Data-ROM (UDF)

    please Help

With version 6.0.7 or later you can use the Video > Advanced > DVD-VIDEO from VIDEO_TS option. This will also remove the .DS, .LAY, .layout files etc. automatically,

HTH but I'm not sure it will...

    commands[128]
Sonic please update Creator or sell it to someone so they can...

  4. I would say it's a problem with your PCI upgrade card. If this is a B&W G3 upgraded to a G4, the G3 non-standard firewire ports and will not work. You need to get an PCI Firewire card.

It's a G4 (PCI) which was upgraded to 500 megahz. This worked perfectly at one time. I am baffled. I've also tried to repair the hard drive with Disk First aid and Tech tool pro.

thank you for your continued help, it is truly appreciated.
