  1. I'd like to burn my VCD files onto 4.7Gig DVD. However I read DVD players do not play VCD files from DVD, like they can with CD's due to the 48,000 audio sampling. Is there a program that will convert these to the proper audio sampling? I have a ton of VCD files. Also, does it have to re-encode the VCD?

    Hi,

Many dvd authoring programs will convert the audio for you. Just load your vcd level mpg file into the authoring program and design as normal. (of course make sure you have it set to dvd output).

  3. I do this all the time with VCD's. I think that the authoring programs take too long to convert the audio to 48000kHz. I suggest demuxing and converting with BeSweet.

  4. DVDLab will author them, and it will also transcode audio for you.
I have a guide on this.

TMPGEnc DVD Author will also accept VCD files for authoring to DVD. Not quite sure about this, but it seems that it does NOT convert the audio. It accepts 44.1Khz audio for vcd's only, and doesn't seem to spend any time converting it. Not sure exactly how this works, but it does! Not sure if they're entirely compliant.
