    Also when playing back my assets, I am only getting sound and a black screen.

    Do the assets play in WMP?
    SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.
    VOB2MPG PRO, Extract mpegs from your DVDs - with you in control!

    No. Neither does it play in PowerDVD. I used Cucusoft AVI to DVD converter v 4.02 to convert the .avi clip to an mpg file.

    Well if it doesn't paly in WMP it won't play in the preview as it is the same technology..... Can't you use SVCD2DVD to convert it?
