  1. hi,

as i got my PSP some days ago i am now playing around with the encoders available. RECODE from ahead (nero) is by far the best.
    now my question:

is it possible to include the subtitles of a dvd rip in a MP4 file? i tried everything but it didnt work out yet.

has anybody an explanation why it doesnt work? the subs are selected when i click on convert.

  3. i know, but isnt it possible to encode the subtitels into the MP4 file (hardcoded)? i know that you can do it with some other tools, but there must be a way to do it with recoder.

Well recode accepts AVISynth scripts as input, so you could frameserve with subs. For DVD input I can't think of what else would work. For single file input you should be able to use directvobsub or ffdshow since it uses dshow for input.

Have you tried ttext subs? Perhaps it supports them?

Run the VOB's through DGIndex. Extract the audio if you haven't already.

Use VSRip to create VOBSub's. Then create an AVISynth script loading the D2V, subs via VOBSub and I guess the audio to, since I don't think recode accepts seperate audio streams.

There is an AC3 plugin that does a 2 channel downmix. Don't recall it working that well though. Guess you could use directshowsource and use say AC3Filter or decode to wav.
