Hi,

Ive been trying to encode some avi file to dvd but they keep failing. this is the error message i get.

any help would be appreciated,

Try to disable 'Normalize audio'.

thanks that worked, however, now theres a horrible buzz on one of the channels of audio. this seems to have happened to every dvd ive encoded with normalize off.

any suggestions?

Use mp2 audio in case of problems with ac3 channels.

im trying it now with .mp2 however fails straight away....should the norm
alize audio option be ticked or unticked? im not sure why its failing..

I just tried it with the normalize box ticked and it didnt produce and video or audio ts folder

You should get the ac3 file you obtained previously, and encode it to mp2 with the "audio to mp2" ffmpegX preset. Then use "Mux as.. DVD" to combine the m2v video track with the mp2 audio track. No re-encoding of the video track is needed.

when i open the ac3 file as the source format in the summary page it comes up as unrecognized and when i choose the audio file to mp2 option in the taget format section and encode it finishes instantly and no file file is produced.

tryed to load it in the audio page but nothing happened also the only file i have from my last staright avi to dvd encode are an ac3 file, an mpv file and a wav file.

any ideas?

If you have a complete ac3 file, then go to the Tools tab, load the mpv file and the ac3 file in the two browse.. fields and click "MUX AS.. DVD".

encoded the avi file to dvd with normalize on...then tried to mux to dvd with the ac3 and mpv files but nothing happened...finished process straight away! if i choose to encodee avi with normalize off then i dont end up with an ac3 and mpv file only a video_ts and audio_ts folder.

where to from now?
