  1. I have searched the guides but couldn't find a way to put an AVI file on a DVD without converting it to an MPEG format. Is it possible to do this as long as the file is under 4GB?

    Thanks Much

    Hi,

Only if you desire to play it on a computer or a divx compatible dvd player. Otherwise you will have to convert it to mpeg.

If it is divx compatible just burn the data file without doing anything to it.

Any file up to the media size limit can be burned to DVD as data under UDF format. Some burning programs allow mild overburn. You can also span a huge file over several DVD media. An AVI is just like any other data file.

If you want it to play on a standalone player, burn it to the supported standards of the target player.

Yep, and I'm pretty sure if you use ISO or ISO/UDF you are limited to 2GB files AFAIK.
