  1. I'm trying to convert an .avi file to a dvd format that can be played on a consumer dvd player using ffmpex .9s and Mac OSX 10.4.1 but whenever I drop the avi file into the space in the control panel then select dvd ffmpeg as the target format, seven hours after this begins, I get a .mpv file with no audio that can't be opened by dvd player 4.6 and no VIDEO_TS or AUDIO_TS files anywhere to be found using searchlight, despite the instructions on the ffmpegx web site...so I can't even get to the DVDImg part of the process for burning a dvd...

I tried this about 3 times - 21 hours of waiting! - and always get the same results, an .mpv file that can't be played on dvd player and that has no audio, even when I tried tweaking things, like changing audio track from 0 to 1 or 2...

btw, I checked out mpeg2enc for download but it only opens as code, which I'm not smart enough to understand or know what to do with, unless there's another source for this besides the one listed on ffmpegx control panel...

Are you sure ffmpegX was finished? Creating an .mpv file is only the first step the process. Audio is done after that.

Only the word “Finished!” and the sound ‘ting!’ are the true signs of the end of the process.
