Hi there,
Recently got a DV500, very pleased etc., great piece of kit. Now, I can capture great and that's all dandy, but I want to be able to export my timeline into Impression to be able to use Premiere's features etc. So, after a bit of scrabbling around (and being forced to resorting to reading the manual), I got to the stage where I could export it to Impression. My problem is that it creates 2 files, an MP2 file of the video stream and a wav file of the audio stream. The AVI is perfectly in sync, but from 72.11 mins of avi file, the wav ends up 48ms longer than the original AVI, and the mp2 ends up at 56 minutes. I would assume it's dropping frames in the conversion.
To get around this I have been using good old studio 9 to do the authoring etc, but this leaves me thinking that all I am using Premiere for really is capturing, which is such a waste.
Any bright ideas please?
Graeme

I agree, DV500 quality is excellent.
Convert the AVI to MPEG2 using Premiere 6.5. Then import the already converted MPEG into Impression,TOMMO
