I just upgraded my mobo and cpu and did a fresh install of XP and now using avi2dvd or winavi to encode a dvd, my computer will freeze up not even 2 minutes into the process. With avi2dvd it happens during the audio conversion, i can only guess the same for winavi.

Before I upgraded it worked great. Any ideas?

    CPU Overheating

Check those two things first, especially the CPU heat sink.
