  1. I don't know why this is, every once in a while when I load a .dat I TDA will freeze for a bit then give me the division by 0 error, other times I can load the dat just fine. Any solutions ?

  2. Extract the video from the .dat in VCDGear first.

  4. When you say sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, do you mean the EXACT SAME dat file, or another one? By EXACT SAME I do not mean a file by the same name, I mean the one and only file that gave the error.

If it is the exact same file, then it is something on your system, probably a memory leak. Reboot and see if it works. If so, keep track of what progs you run, you will probably find that after running Prog X that you get the error and must reboot to regain functionality.

If it is different files, then could simply be corrupt file. No solution.

  5. I'm talking about an other file. So yeah Sometimes I would follow the ISO buster guide and extract it with the M2F2 ( or something like that option u get when u right click on the file ) and it still wouldn't work. Also a few months ago I authored this one dat, it loaded into TDA fine no freezing prob but then when I did it again a few weeks back when I found out that I hadn't deleted it, I loaded it and got divison by 0,.

  6. Your last statement is incredibly important. Same file, same software, same process, different result. Either system state was different - some prog was run which left part of itself in memory, etc. - or something has changed the DAT file or the Program. This would indicate Hard drive problem, virus, or spyware. test and remove.

Have you rebooted, done absolutely nothing else, and tried this DAT file? I mean the one which worked before and does not work now. This file is the key. Do not try ANY other file until you get this one working. This file is the ONLY file which is KNOWN to be possible to convert.

    Have you tried Safe Mode?

You did not mention - Has ANYTHING changed on the PC between the time this DAT file worked, and when it was discovered to NOT be working?
New software, hardware, screensavers, windows or driver updates, has the PC been moved, powerful magnets nearby, any error messages popping up, ANYTHING AT ALL? I will be repeating this question, give it some thought.

  7. Hi sorry for the late reply, well the file that I was talking about was from months back and its long gone since, but I can tell you that when I had the file I definately made changes to the system everyday ( add or remove prog ), when I encountered this problem back then I just simply system restored back to an earlier point that I know the file worked in TDA.

  8. Sounds like you have your own answer. A file which used to work, then after progs installed/removed, no longer works. A system restore fixes the error. I am assuming that this worked, you do not specifically say so.

If a System Restore solves the problem, then it is some software that is either added or removed from the registry that is causing a conflict. I would start looking at progs which use the specific codecs that your video requires.
