9.02 has been running ok on my system (AIW8500DV).
When I get one that is stable I tend to leave it be.

I'm using Beyond TV 3 mostly now for unattended recording. I like the way it can be remotely programmed.

I have read elsewhere that 4.12 Catalyst, and the 9.03 MMC seem to play the best and be most stable...

With WinXP, ATI 9800 Pro, P4 3.0 (800fsb) - 9.03 has been stable for me, except:
Prob: Anywhere from 15 min to 1.5 hours the capture program freezes - so bad the system has to have a hard shutdown / restart. I finally found in the depths of ATI that this is a problem with hyper-threading and there is a hotfix available from Microsoft. For $35, it is possible to call Microsoft and get told that SP2 includes the hotfix and it isn't available.

But hyperthreading is indeed the cause. Going to CMOS and disabling hyperthreading absolutely fixes the issue. Then the ATI capture program works really great - particularly with Lordsmurf's wonderful set of instructions posted here. No more freezes. Just go set CMOS before capturing, then reset it back when finished. A little hassle, but solid workaround.

I've not managed to get anything later than 8.9 to work properly so thats what I run. 8.7 or 8.9 seem to be about the most stable.
