    Hiho,

I just downloaded ffmpegX and tried to convert a DVD and some DVB recordings to AVI/MPEG2 (DivX and XviD, SVCD). But no matter which soundformat I choose (mp3, mp2, AC3) I never have sound in the renderd video. Any ideas what the problem could be?

Are you encoding directly from a DVD? It is adviced to rip a DVD first to your HD. Ripping only the main title (to one vob file) works pretty well.

I ripped it with MacTheRipper. Anyway, I have the same problem while converting my DVB recordings from eyetv...

Nope. I just tried it with the DVD (though track 2 doesn't exist) and with a DVB recording. Here's my logfile...

Ok, it seems that AC3 is the problem. I can convert mp2 sound without any problem but I don't get any sound if the source is in AC3 format.

    Mhh... Any ideas?
