Hi, I've got a 14.985 FPS movie file. When use a computer to watch, the movie and sound is fine. I have converted it to a 29.97FPS movie file. The movie looks fine after conversion. But the sound has been highly distorted and you can barely hear anything(NOT A CASE OF SOUND LAG because of being MP3). Because of the bad sound I have done the conversion a few times and all end up the same. I've even use VirtualDub to Dub the avi again, before using Ulead Video Editor 7 to convert the movie. The movie is always good, but the sound always distorted and hardly audible.![]()
Therefore how do I fix up the sound problem of this avi file?????? Thanks.

Tried any other AVI to ??? methods? You forgot to state what you want to end up with.

Thanks Mats, I would like to convert the 14.985FPS avi file to MPEG2 file to put on DVD.

Sorry about this, but I've just rechecked the DVD created from the 14.985FPS avi file. I've found that the DVD plays fine with good picture and audio on a Computer PowerDVD program.
But when put that same DVD into any HiFi DVD player, the Sound is distorted. What is the problem, and how can I fix it??? Thanks in advance.
I've done other 14.985FPS conversion before and put on DVD, and they didn't have any problem, it's just this time that it is so bizzare... -
What's the audio format (and bitrate) of your finished DVD?
/Mats -
You need to convert your audio to either .AC3 or .PCM. An .MP3 file probably won't play (as you've no doubt noticed) in most players.

Here's my method for those 14.985fps downloads

Generally when they butcher (S)VCD re-encodes like that (assuming that is what it is) as well as decimating half the frames, they cut the audio sample rate in half. Perhaps that is where the issue is at? 22KHz-->48KHz.

Install Toolame and SSRC, specify them in TMPGenc. Better audio quality and most especially better frequency conversion.
The guide you are using leaves out a lot, including any mention of audio format change. You must ensure conformity to DVD specs.
PC plays correctly, this points to probable frequency issue. SSRC should handle this. -
My link above, assumes you know how to do audio separately, virtualdub extract full .wav, transcode to ac3/mp2, then join during authoring.
I NEVER use tmpgenc to encode audio of any sort, although ssrc may be an improvement...Cheers, Jim

I don't use TMPGenc for audio either. In my example, TooLame is audio encoder, SSRC is freq converter. TMPGenc is just menu.
Now it seems you have an AUDIO problem. A complete description of AUDIO encoding method, including original and specified frequencies, and programs used, even filesizes obtained, might be helpful in determining the source of the AUDIO problem.
