  1. I have some VCD quality footage that I am trying to put on DVD. I have the video all set but then I try to convert the audio to 48000Hz. So I do a simple demux with TMPGEnc and it does not demux the whole audio file. Only part of it. So then I tried demuxing the audio in TMPGEnc with the tooLame (or lame I forget which) plugin and was successful. I was then happy to have a method that works perfectly. So then I tried this on another VCD and it does not work with either method.

Why would TMPGEnc have a problem demuxing audio from an MPG file? Could someone suggest another program to do so?

With BeSweet, would any one know how to set up the wizard so that it can use the tooLame and SSRC encoder?

Incorrect/invalid audio or video. A Player app may skip the error but TmpGenc, when de-multiplexing probably can not.

You can always try virtualdub for mpeg-1 or virtualdubMod for mpeg-1 and 2.

  4. Tried to have virtualdubmod extract the audio but it will only analyze the first 10 minutes of an hour clip!

So now it seems like it is an audio and video problem. I will repost in another forum.

No, it sounds like your mpeg is corrupt.

Players can often skip over errors, sometimes with no noticeable problems. But any processing tool such as Tmpgenc or virtualdub will be less forgiving.

You could try bbmpeg if you can figure out how to use it!
