messenger problems

Not sure if I should post this here - if not tell me to sod off and not the bore you..

just got a mercury kob br100 to network 2 machines - sick off my machine acting as a server. only now my daughter caun't get on msn messenger ( just hangs ). seems to work ok if i plug it into my surfboard directly, Need help setting up, anyone know how to get this to work..

both machines running XP and service pack 2...
Xp firewall swithed off
no documentation with the router.

ok i was a little confused at first but i think the br100 thing is a router right?

anyways im guessing the computers are able to access the internet through this router otherwize u would have noted otherwize.

this is my guess. the router has a built in firewall and is blocking various ip's and things. you will have to access its options somehow. and the only way to find out as routers vary is to check the venders website and hope it lists how there.

Are these both wired? If so, try each port on the router, even the uplink port.
