I'm using a NEC 3520a and it was really good to me my first 2 weeks. Lately though when I copy DVDs I get an error on Nero 5.5 saying "No Seek Complete" I have no idea what this means but I get it ALL THE TIME! My Media is prodisc and the source DVDs are DVDs that I once authored so there is no copy protection on them. I did a firmware upgrade on my burner to 3.04 and that didn't seem to solve the problem. I am using SP2 and I think I noticed this problem after I installed SP2, but I'm not sure if there is any correlation between them. The NEC allows me to burn at 12x with my 8x prodisc media but I've tried burning at 8x and 6x and still I get that dreaded "No Seek Complete: error. Does anyone know what's the problem? Thanks!

I believe Nero isn't too happy with SP2. You may need to download a patch to make it work properly again. Or ditch Nero completely and get something better.

So there is a correlation between the 2. Do you think if I used Nero 6.0+ the problem will be better? Anyways, I've only used Nero and NTI to burn DVDS so I'm not sure which other softwares are better. Could you name a few that are also compatible with SP2? The ratings on the NEC 3520a is really good but so far I can't seem to find a combination that will maximize the performance between hardware and software. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I use VSO CopytoDVD for basic burning, but mostly use DVD Decrypter for DVD burning. The only catch - it will only burn ISO files. But these are easily created. RecordNow Max also has a good reputation, especially for DL burning.

Most diehard Nero users seem to prefer 5.5 to anything in the 6+ versions. The older it gets, the more bloated and flatulent it has become. Nero doesn't have a good reputation for DL burning.

So DVD decrypter won't do a copy of dvd-video then?
