  1. Is there a way or suggested software that can take a dvd recording and "edit" the menus, for instance, where it has been authored with the word "killer" and it should be "driller".

    I only have the dvd. none of the files or saved format from the original author software.

    It depends how the test is done on the disk. If it is embedded in the image (e.g. put in in photoshop then just dropped into the background) then you need to extract the image, change it, and reencode and slip it back in.

    If it is a subpicture, then you need to be able to edit the subpitcure and reinstert it. Something like menuedit or DVD Remake Pro might allow you to change subpictures. IFOEdit or PGCEdit might allow you to replace the background. Look up these tools and their associated guides for details.
