    Hi,
I recorded some TV programs on a Sylvania DVD Recorder.
I didn't finalize those DVDs and now we've got a Pioneer DVD Recorder.
The Pioneer won't recognize those unfinalized DVDs.

Are there any software programs that will let me finalize those DVDs?

I tried Nero but it wouldn't recognize the disc.

I tried ripping it with CloneDVD & DVD Decrypter so I could burn the files but they wouldn't recognize the disc either.

If there's some long, roundabout way I could get the files off the disc or finalize the DVD I'd be willing to do that too.

    Thanks in advance

You need a DVD data recovery software..like Nero or Roxio if memory serves me correctly.

I can't find the disc recovery utility in Nero.

I tried this isobuster utility but it pulled up the DVD as blank so there was nothing to recover.

I think I need a way to get the drive to recognize the data that's on the DVD

  4. I think your only option is to find another Sylvania recorder to finalize the disc in. As far as I know, PCs won't recognize the disc at all, like what you experienced when the DVD came up as blank.

You said you tried DVD Decrypter, but did you try the Disk close option on the Tools menu; Tools -> Drive ->Close -> Disk. I don't know if it will work if it can't see the disk, but give it a shot.
