  1. Hi guys i am a new member. Iv been trying to make exact copies of my dvds for some time now. I started trying with my mac and realized it was too complex...so i took the easy way out and purchased an external dvd drive for my pc. I installed it and it work fine for about two days, i burned three perfect dvd copies. Mysteriously the next day my computer would not detect that i had a dvdr drive, i tried everthing, after a few frustrating hours i gave up and went up north. A few days later i came back and it seemed to be working fin, my computer detected it. Ever since this incident when i tried to burn a dvd it would say "burn process failed at 2x..." I thought it was just the dvd i was trying to burn at first, so i tried some others, same thing. So for some reason i uninstalled the drive, to start fresh. Now the computer doesnt even read that i have an external drive hooked up. And comp. usa has my 130$ and i have a dvd burner that does not work. All i want is to be able to back up my dvds, i dotn want all the complications...Please some one tell me what i should do. Thank you

Sounds like the drive has failed. If it is still under warranty, get it replaced.

You will most likely need to call tech support for the maker of the drive. They will want to troulbeshoot with you before they give you an RMA. Unless of course, CompUSA is nice enough to exchange it for you.
