Well - beside the bulls bollocks....
Pretty sad this whole DVDD story. The best freeware program for years seems to disappear. Hate to see that. Luckily it can be helped by AnyDVD for the future and still be used. But AnyDVD is not freeware. I hope that LUK and Olli will talk and maybe there is a solution to relocate DVDD from the Uk to Antigua as well. Or on any other island. Since they worked in the past together and LUK using ElbyCDIO this might be an option.
What I liked best: Fengtao releasing this DVDFab free version. Maybe not as rock solid as DVDD but standig up to MV and showing them: If you go after one of us another one will fill the shoes. Maybe even more. I would love to see a similar step from Slysoft with a scaled down free version as well. How about a free AnyDVD or ElbyCDIO.dll just for DVDD????
Kill one - two will pop up. Just came to my mind. I will check with these guys. If I hear anything positive I'll post here again. -
Man what a blow....I haven't been arround, just heard the news. I was busy taking the Xbox apart so I could back up some of the discs I baught from Billy. After all the BS I went through to get a backup of HALO, I know Macrovision will not be very big of a challenge for all the smart programers out there.
Lighting UK was a moderator on the Digital Video Forums.....interestingly enough the only thread he started was about DVD shrink:
"It's a real shame to let development on this tool just end like that when there are some tallented people out there who'd love to fix a few of the more annoying little problems.
I fully understand dvdshrink not wanting to pass on his code to the general public (maybe he's not allowed to?!), but maybe one of the senior members / moderators could do something with it. Someone who's actually been in contact with dvdshrink over the years and who he trusts not to kill it - obviously they'll need to know how to program too"
He understands the smart thing isn't to post the code to the general public, but, someone he trusts has it. It will resurface! -
it did resurface in ahead nero , where he works now

woah... so, ok - does that mean that nero *may* have some of dvdd's abilities? I know, I'm probably jumping the gun....... but.... a man can dream?
scratch the surface off a cynic - you will find a disillusioned idealist. -
