I have ripped a movie with the latest versions of dvddecrypter and dvdshrink. That movie plays fine. I then used Nero 6.6.0.3 to make a copy of the ripped dvd with the "dvd copy" option.
When I play the second copy of the movie, it freezes up at a certain point in the movie. It freeezes up at the same point on two different players and when playing the dvd on the dvd burner that I used to burn it. I've tried four different dvds and they all choke on the copy of the ripped dvd, albeit at different points for each movie but at the same point in each individual movie in different players.
I am using Imation and HP dvds, the write speed is correct, and I verify the copy. I don't think it is a media or drive problem in that I can take the ripped movie (first version) and go through dvddecrypter and shrink and get a working version.
It simply appears that Nero's copy is yakking, even though it is verified. I don't see a copy error when doing a data copy.
Ideas?

All a verify will do is (at best) tell you what is on the HDD is what has been copied to the CD/DVD. That said, I wouldn't trust any verify program, let alone Nero's, to be accurate. I would load disk back into Shrink and use DVD Decrypter to burn. Uninstall Nero and through the disks out in the trash. That's where it belongs. (I use to be a big Nero fan. Now the only component I use is CD/DVD Speed Test, which can be downloaded and installed by itself)

I've always been suspect of using "DVD copy" in Nero, and prefer to use DVDDecrypter ISO Read / ISO Write instead for making copies of DVDRs. Might be worth a try.
If in doubt, Google it. -
Not to pile on, but Nero can be bossy. On my computer, it buggered or made "glitchy" all other burning apps. Other than that, I rarely had any trouble with it. But I got rid of it and ran the clean tool. No regrets.
Now I use DVDDecrypter exclusively for DVD-Video, and RecordNow for everything else. JMO.Pull! Bang! Darn! -
I have only tried the 'DVD Copy' in Nero a couple of times with problems both times. Now with Nero I use the 'DVD-Video' compilation and just take the VOBs, IFOs, and BUPs and drop them into the VIDEO_TS folder. Works much better.
