  1. Does anyone know why I have this problem? It is the fastest encoder I can find, but the video is choppy, and I can't figure out why.

Actually, CCE is faster, and the quality is better than the Mainconcept tsandalone product. However that does not answer your question.

What is your source (avi/mpeg ? resolution ? framerate ?)
    What is your taget ? (DVD ? NTSC/PAL ?)
What si your process ? (Load and go ? Frameserve and filter ? Load and resize in main ?)

You haven't given us enough to go on.

Probably because of the framerate conversion from PAL to NTSC.

Get a cheap player that supports pal and convert to PAL instead.

    or

Use canopus procoder and convert to NTSC, it is better for that.

    or

Change the avi to 23.96 fps with virtualdub and convert the audio to 23.976fps with besweet. and convert it to ntsc 23.976 with 3:2 pulldow.

    or

Convert to NTSC but with 25 fps and use dgpulldown to change the mpeg to NTSC 23.976fps.

    or

    search for "ntsc to pal".

  6. Converted to pal it still is choppy video, canopus crashes durring conversion, and dgpulldown didn't work. I don't know how to convert to 23.976 fps with virtual dub, can you direct me to a tutorial?

  7. If this is an XVID file make sure you have the latest codec installed on your system. Look in the tools section. Using an outdated XVID codec to watch or encode a film made with a newer XVID codec can cause the film to be choppy.
It doesn't matter who you vote for. The government always gets in.
