Need to make particle effects

Hey guys
I need to make a particle effect, currently I'm using Wonder Touch Particle illusion 3.0, but it has a watermark left on the finished project due to it being a demo version. Does anyone know of a similiar program that can do the same or about the same effects as this can do. Here is an example of what Im talking about.

I need to do a bunch of changing effects like the ones in windows media player.

Wax 2 could probably do what you need. You might look into Blender as well.
