  1. Hello all...

    I was wondering if it's possible to make a copy of a DVD that was produced/made with DVDXCOPY using ISO.

    I tried to do it, but I get a "bad disk" message. The tools I have are DVD Decrypter & DVDShrink.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks...

    Could be a faulty disc or bad media.

  4. Thank you for the replies....

    I'm having trouble find the article/sticky about backing up a DVD made with DVDXCOPY using ISO. Or is the reference to use ISO to make a copy of the DVD in question?

    Thanks...again...

  6. Ok...I'm doing as instructed, and DVD Decrypter gives the following message;

    Unable to create, replace or append to file:

    X:\dir\filename.iso

    Reason: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.

    Nothing else is running; DVD Dcrptr is the only app besides XP.

    Any ideas?

    thanks again...

    edit:
    looking at the DVD; there are 2 folders and 1 txt file;
    archive.txt (text about dvdxpress stuff;
    audio_ts (empty /or in a format that I can't read???)
    video_ts (10 files bup/ifo/vob);

    can I simply create a new folder, copy the contents and then burn another dvd?

    ok then...

    Yes. dvdxcopy has already removed css protection. You can copy the folder to your hard drive and burn to dvd. Dont bother copying the archieve.txt file. Only copy across the VIDEO_TS folder.

    Use titlesetblanker or vobblanker to strip out the warning screen dvdxcopy made.

    After you have made a copy of a disc using (insert your software here), there is no need to rip the disc a 2nd time. All you need to do is use (insert your dvd burning software here) and make a disc copy. Copying the disc is much faster that ripping and authoring.

    Also, at the top of this forum is a sticky called "Can I make a backup of a backup" which sounds like what you are asking.

    Something's screwy with your system or DVDDecrypter setup. Or are you perhaps on a FAT32 system? DVDDecrypter can't read a full DVD to ISO under FAT32, as that will exceed the file size limit of the file system.
