I'm not having much luck finding a place that sells DVD case inserts that are ready-made for the larger DVD-quantity cases. I have seen several places that have the single and double DVD case inserts, and even the slim single and double DVD case inserts.

But, what about for 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 disc cases? They have that double hinge sort of spine, I don't know the proper term for it. I would like to find a source for case inserts for these kind of cases. I've been buying some of these high-capacity DVD cases for my TV series back ups, and a lot of them are 4-8 discs.

I'd like to get the inserts and just write what the content is one the spine so I can read it on the shelf or in the drawer without removing the case to look at the post-it note I have stuck inside the front cover.

I thought about printing my own, but it turned out to be a significant hassle, and while being able to print my own text and pictures was kind of cool, the time involved with making them up, printing them off, cutting to the proper size for each different size of case, etc., was more than I want to spend, especially with 400+ cases to do. That's why I started using the post-it notes stuck inside the sleeve.

Now I'd be happy to have a plain insert I can jot the title down on with a marker and slip into the case sleeve. I know I'll probably have to tear at the perforated edges or something, but that's fine with me.

Any help or advice on a source would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I just ordered a few of these: https://www.effectuality.com/store/item.php/name/DVD_Case_Wrap/product/view/itemid/19/...tid/8/store/us from Effectuality.com. They have both matte and glossy finish inserts and they have both standard spine and wide spine. The wide spine ones are supposed to fit their cases that hold 5-8 disks. These are very nice cases that are just under twice the thickness of a regular case. I just got some of these wide spine ones, and I haven't printed any yet, but they look promising. They are on long (8-1/2 x 14?) paper and are peforated so you just peel off the edges to get the correct size.

Hey, thanks, that may just be the ticket. I'm going to have to get a couple of those cases too to check out - are you serious, the 7 and 8 disc cases are only about double the width of a regular DVD case? Wow, the similar size cases I've been getting from Meritline are huge, but I hadn't found anything thinner.

    Thanks much for the info.

  4. Be careful with cases that pack too tight. Those don't seem too bad. I got some anime recently, seems like all the newer animworks bricks, that comes is cases that stack the media in overlapping hubs. It's a horrible design and the hubs are so tight you can't get the discs out very easily at all. Not to mention you have to take a disc out to get to the one under it. I had one come in packd so tight a disc was cracked in half. Whoever thought up those should be shot.
