I extracted audio from a video file and tried to convert the video with TMPGEnc, but when using the wav as the audio file it slows down to where it says it will take 12+ hours to do a 700mb file.

When I do it using the video as the audio source it works fine.

    I have Virtual Dub 1.5 10 build 18160
    TMPGEnc 2.521.58.169

  2. hummm... sounds like ur saving a mp3 audio with a .wav extension...
try using goldwave, or anyother audio program that will let you deal with avi's & export the file as a wav.

Why are you trying to encode in TMPGenc with the .WAV?

I encode the .WAV to .AC3 separately using ffmpegGUI, and then author the DVD with the .m2v (video) from TMPGenc and the .AC3.

You just need to make sure that the sample rates and bitrates for the audio match between TMPGenc and ffmpegGUI (I use 48000/256 for both), and then the resulting file sizes will match also.

I then encode m2v+mp2 in TMPGenc, and discard the .mp2 file in favor of the .AC3 before authoring.

I do any corrective work to the .WAV (declicking, noise reduction, amplitude correction, enhancement, etc.) before encoding to .AC3.

    C.K.
