  1. When I first got my DVR520 I tested the auto record with my dish satellite receiver and it worked properly. Now when I try to use the auto record feature, it does not work properly. The recorder shuts down as it is suppose to and then starts up again immediately with auto record. Has any one experienced this problem and does anyone have an idea on how to fix it?

The dish satellite receiver is off when I do this and in fact I ran a test with the video completely disconnected from line 1.

    Thanks Jim

I have the same problem with my Comcast PVR connected to the Pioneer. Many others have reported this issue as well. If there is any signal coming through either the video or audio connections then the Pioneer switches on. In my case it is audio. I don't know why it worked for you at one time and then stopped working, but there is a signal passing through somehow.

  3. Thanks for the reply. I will disconnect my audio and video leads from my dish receiver and see if that 'solves' the problem. I haven't used the auto start feature much and several months back Dish had new smart cards issued and I assume the firmware has been updated a number of times. Maybe something in that??

  4. Well when I disconnected both video and audio plugs, the DVR shut down like it was suppose to. I plugged the audio leads back in and it did not restart, but when I plugged back in the video lead, it started up. A bit of a bummer. I tried this with both S-video connection and RCA plug with the same results.
