I have a bunch of old video clips that are abviously widescreen (maybe 16:9). But they appear as full screen 4:3 (images are stretched tall). I have converted them to avi files. What is the best way to convert these 352X240 files to their correct ratio (with black bars on top and bottom) before burning to DVD? I have TMPEG but am unsure if I can make this correction with that program.

settings->advanced->source aspect ratio:16:9 and video arrange method: full screen (keep aspect ratio).
check it with file->preview to see that it looks okey.

  3. If you're not sure of the source aspect, just choose settings > advanced > source aspect ratio 1:1 VGA, and video arrange method: full screen keep aspect ratio 2.
