Not being too versed on wireless networking, a friend had asked me about his wireless network setup. He had a 802.11b router and a 802.11g laptop internal card. He couldn't get it to setup. we tried and 802.11b card and worked great. Are the networking 11g and router 11b not compatable. That the cards and the router have to match. Not sure if that is the solution though. Thanx All.

Something's up with his setting, or the internal card is broken. I've mixed and matched both ways and have yet to encounter a problem.

Supreme2K is correct. 802.11G is backwards compatible with 802.11b however some routers / cards allow you to "only accept G" or "only accept "B" (or both / mixed). There are other settings that can affect compatibility like frame bursting, etc. I suspect it is a card setting (Network Connections). An 802G card should be able to connect to an 801B router.
