  1. I have a Philips 727 andnI have used it withy my HDTV for a year and a half. Now I have pioneer and I wanted to hook up this Philips to my regular TV (non-HD). I urned off the Progressive, but the video cable will not work. i tried new cables and ewven a different TV, but I only get sound and no video. i tried another DVD player, a Samsung, that I had hooked up to my HDTV before the Philips and I get the same thing (no video). These both still work through RGB connection but not through the standard video wire. Has having it set up on progressive for so loing fried the circuits in some way? Am I missing something?

You are missing something. Is there a switch on the back of your dvd player to change video outputs? I know there is one on my Pioneer. Check that out and see what you find.

You have to change the video out setting in the menu. And if it is like the 642, you will have to hook it back up to your HDTV to see the menu.
