Hi,
On my dvd recorder I have the options to record in 1 hour mode / 2 hours mode / ...
Now, I have a movie on a vhs tape wich is 95 minutes. I'd like to fill the final dvd to the max, so whats the best option:
1. record the full movie in 2 hours mode and burn
2. record half the move in 1 hour mode, the 2nd half in 1 hour mode. Merge the files with TMPG Mpeg Editor and then shrink to fit the dvd-r size ?
What do you think about ?

Generally, everytime you run any process on a video there is a good chance of some, all be it small, degradation of signal. You could do both ways and compare them (blanks are cheap) but I would guess that 2 hour recording would be best. After all, your source is video tape, not the best for quality to begin with. 2-hour mode
some recorders have an "FR" option that does custom times
On my JVC, I would just enter FR95 (95 min)Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)
