I really like to play my videos from my Casio EX-Z750 directly on a DVD-Player.

Unfortunatly the M4S2 codec seem to be widely unsupported. This is really bad for customers of the many MPEG4 Digi- & Videocams using this format. (Shame on Casio, MS, ...).

If someone has played successful M4S2-videos on a certain DVD-Player I would greatly appreciate to hear the model.

To try you can download M4S2 videos from the Casio EX-Z750 site or from Steve's Digicams

Other interesting links for people who want to handle this format in PC-Software (so you can convert it to something more compatible): ffdshow & VirtualDub (StevesForums), M4S2 - VFW codec (Unofficial VirtualDub Support Forums)

Doesn't look like it is actually ISO MPEG-4. livavcodec can decode it fine though.

I doubt any MPEG4/AVI DVD players would be able to play it back, although since they already support DivX3, I guess current chipsets would be able to handle it. Probably also be possible to convert to real ISO MPEG4 without re-encoding like it is with DivX3.

Most cameras supply software for the pc that can be used to create dvd's. Since every different brand of camera seems to adopt their own format for video, it is pointless for any dvd maker to even attempt to support them. We are having a hard enough time getting avi/divx support.
