My DVD Shrink used to consistently freeze during encoding, freezing the computer entirely but a hard reset. Strangely, I noticed when my Outlook is open and DVD Shrink is encoding in the background, it doesn't freeze as much but still does some of the times.

Just for the hell of it, I disabled the Rxmon.exe process running in the back that came installed w/ Roxio Easy CD DVD Creator 6. So far, no more freezing.

That may be the cause for some of you who are also experiencing DVD Shrink to freeze.

Just in case no one has posted regarding this, thought it may help some.
