  1. Hey guys, I am currently learning adobe after effects, and I already use premiere pro. Anyways, I installed after effects, and now some of my avis wont play. I then installed the klite codec pack to see if that would fix it, but still same just a black screen on some avis. Is there a piece of software that will test my machine and tell me what codecs are working and what isnt? Is there another codec pack i should install instead?

    Thanks

First...you shouldn't use codec packs. Just use a program such as gspot to check the video in question...it will tell you what codec is needed.
Then all you need to do is install that codec.

I believe there is a program called codec sniper or something similar that will checked the installed codecs.

  3. BI_RGB Raw Bitmap 4cc = MSVC(_RGB) ------ thats what gspot says it is... It also says no codec needed... codec sniper says they are all ok. Any ideas?

    Thanks, John

There is a codec list here: http://www.fourcc.org/index.php?http%3A//www.fourcc.org/rgb.php

MSVC is the actual codec name. It is a standard M$ codec...maybe yours is corrupt.
