    I would say it is a sharp

    .
    .

    fwiw.., there may be a difference (from one generation to today's) ..so, it
    would be interesting to note what the final outcome would be from a scenario
    like:

    * 1990's --- vcr[Sharp] --> dvd recorder[220-S]
    * todays' -- vcr[Sharp] --> dvd recorder[220-S]

    (and other dvd recorder brands.., though, thee main reason I asked in
    specifics to 220-S unit's is because of the samples I have seen demo'ed
    here and there. And, I'm looking for that closest "fluid" transfer of detail
    in a conversion or transfer of a given source)

    Holy shoot. I just realized something.. I *had* a Sharp vcr, though
    composite (don't really care at the moment) in my arson of vcr's. I
    used to have three vcr's, and I recalled mentioning it on this forum.
    I just have to remember the model number. I hope i posted it here,
    so that I can find it through the search. Lets test it out for fun
    .
    How did I come to this memory ?? ..the pic above

    (please, I hope it wasn't one that I threw out in last years' sprint
    cleanup)

    Found it (link, were I mentioned it) ...
    --> Who uses a regular VHS VCR for capturing?

    ..and, my old system list of things:

    * Sharp VC H960 ---- (RCA only)
    * Sony SLV-685HF ---------- (RCA only)
    * JVC S-VHS HR-S3910U ---- (RCA / S-Video)

    Turn's out, it looks like I did throw it out oh well.

  4. Having a few vcrs around can be very helpful with some tapes. I have two Sharps, one Sony, and one Panasonic. Yesterday I had a vhs tape which had a buzzing in the audio so severe it almost drowned out the real audio in three vcrs. One of the Sharps had a playback which was almost free of the buzz. It was the oldest vcr too.

  5. Anyone backed up Blade 3? It may be a good test for blocky. My Philips was blocky in the cave sceen where they had a strobe lite going, of all things the ILO DVDRO4 was not. My cheap recorder records with better quality than the Philips. That bites.
