I boughts some Sony DVD-RW's (AccuCORE) that have the RITEKW01 media code. I used them in my Samsung DVD-R120 recorder for converting some of my TV shows from tape to DVD. They record fine, but when I use them in my computer Plextor 708 burner it cannot read the DVD. In fact, my system just clocks and won't do anything until I eject the DVD. This means I can't even format them. Whatever the Samsung recorder does it pretty much renders them useless on my computer. And yes I do finalize them. Now here is the crazy thing. I have some Ritek DVD-RW's I bought over a year ago that record fine and work on the computer fine. And they have the same media code as the Sony's.
Has anyone else had this problem? I am trying to figure out if its my DVD recorder or the media that is causing them to become useless on my computer.

I've had the same thing happen on two RITEKW01 coded Memorex DVD-RW. This was with my Pioneer recorder in DVD Video mode. They play fine in my DVD players and in the recorder. But once I put them in my Pioneer 105 PC drive forget it, it can't even read them. Bottom line, it's the media. NEVER had a problem with any other DVD-RW media(recorded via settop) with my PC. Even cheapcrap Optodisc DVD-RW. The Ritek RW seem to be hit and miss in terms of quality.
