  1. I have telecined NTSC (29.9fps, every 5th frame is dplicated) MPEG2 file which simply can't be played smooth. Whatever I do and whatever set (interlaced , tff), playback of file or authored DVD still shows 5th frame! ((

How to make authoring of this type of video so DVD player can skip 5th frame during playback?

  2. Look into avisynth's telecide() function.

  3. Telecide is solution but I asked for a method without reencoding and possible way to solve this only with authoring. But, no way - just checked vieo stream more detailed and I se it is totall mess!
It is not telecined propperly - instead every 5th frame, every 6th frame is added!
Now, I am reencoding it into PAL using telecide, decimate by 6, forcing fps to 30 to achieve resulting video in 25fps (becasue telecide 6 from 29.9 fps give 24.9 fps which is not by DVD standard) and get PAL video out of this NTSC mess.

Testing in VirutalDub shows this will work fine because resulitng video will have exact duration as audio, 25fps and playback is smooth. I'll see how everyting looks after complete reencoding...
