Ok I have a bunch of problems.

First and probably most important for some reason all of a sudden my computer it not recognizing any subtitle files. No movie player will recognize any subtitle track?

fmpegX 0.0.9s gives me the error code

    “The installation was not successful.
    ##cp: / Library/ Application support/ ffmpegX/ mpeg2enc: No such file or directory”

And every time I open the application it makes me find the path again for mencoder, mpeg2enc and mplayer

When I try to join two AVI’s together I end up with no audio. Any help will be most appreciated.

  2. Create manually the /Library/Application Support/ffmpegX directory and reinstall. About AVI joining, check if there is audio by playing with VLC or Mplayer.

When I open an .str file with VLC I get the error

    “main: demux doesn't like DEMUX_GET_TIME”

What do you think that means? I have tried playing my joined AVI’s with every player I can think of and I have somehow when I join them together I have lost the audio?

It means VLC won’t play .srt subtitle files by itself. If you want the subs to load, make it a similar name for auto-detection, or use the Open File dialog box (not the default Quick Open File). Then you may select a subs track from the Video menu, while the AVI is playing.
