I just bought myself a copy of the chapelle show season 2.
i want to back it up but i have a problem. i dont care for the extras but i still want a functional menu.
i use dvddecrypter then dvd shrink. when i use dvdshrink the menu is non-functioning.
how can i get the menus to be functioning ??
P.S. .. i want the original menu that came in the dvd , not those cheesy DVDauthor ones

You can use DVD Shrink - just replace the extras with a black still (create a simple black bmp) - only in reauthor mode will you kill the menus. Or use something like vobblanker, which takes us even less space.

To keep a functioning menu when backing up a movie I use Vobblanker to blank all the parts I dont want, I just leave the main movie and the menu.
I use PGCedit to blank menu buttons that are not required and just leave the 'Play Movie' button functioning.
I then compress with shrink if required and burn to disc with DVDdecrypter.
When doing it this way always make sure the DVD is functioning how you want it to be, with a software player first such as WINDVD, or POWERDVD, before burning to disc.
