  1. I am having issues transfering video from my Canon Elura 70 to my computer. The audio was recorded in 16 bit. Here is a summary of the problem:

    When using WinDV...
The audio does not seem to be transferred when setting WinDV to use Type 2. I can not hear anything when I play the avi back on the computer. However, I have tested other files recorded in 12 bit audio and it works fine.

I switched WinDV to use Type 1 and the audio and video transfer fine for the video recorded with 16 bit audio. I can hear everything when playing back.

Anyone have any ideas why this is happening? I'm not too concerned about using Type 1; I was just stumped why this is happening.

    Thanks.

The difference between type 1 and type 2 is how the audio is included. One has the audio as a seperate track, the other interleaves it. I suspect that both have the audio in them, but some programs will only read type 1 and some will only read type 2. Find one that works for you and use it.
