  1. I currently have virtually no cooling; I'm afraid my system is going to overheat on me this summer. I want to create a system that is both cool and quiet. It doesn't have to be a silent system, but I would like it to be fairly quiet. Can you recommend me case fans, a good quiet HSF, and a quiet powersupply? I really appreciate your help. Here's my setup so you can get a good idea of what my heat output is, and what kind of cooling my case allows for.

Thanks so much for your time,
    -Jonathan.

Here's one link to quiet computers: http://www.overclockers.com/tips1064/index02.asp

For other suggestions, try a Google search for "Quiet Computers".

Probably the main changes are a quiet CPU cooler, then power supply, and finally case fans. The main thing is bigger, slower fans to reduce fan noise. Beyond that is drive noise, if that bothers you.

I like at least one intake fan blowing over the hard drives and at least one exhaust fan on the rear of the case. The Barton runs warm, but unless you are overclocking you should be able to get away with a reasonably priced quiet CPU cooler.
