I am kinda new to this...I started backing up my DVD movies last month, then suddenly one day I wanted to finish my backups and I opened the programs and went through the process as usual and I got an error message...the message is "Reporting invalid address for write during recovery - trying to continue. write error - code 03 0c 00 [write error] - info 0 - csi 0" the estimated time is 2 hours to burn, and 2 hours later it says the same thing, i left for work one night and left it on and 12 hours later when i returned from work it still said 2 hours. im not sure what to do anymore, i thought it was the pc, so i rebooted, i've reinstalled the programs...can someone please help me? The software that i am using to back up my movies is dvd decrypeter, copy to dvd and dvd2one. i've also tried nero 6 and a few others, but all of the programs are doing the same. i would appreciate any help that u can give me. thanks.

  2. We need a better explanation of what your doing.
Tell us the software you are using, the process you are using and what software you are getting the errors with and when ?
What do you mean by 'finish my backups' - do you mean burn to disc ?
    More info = better/faster help.

    Thanks

Sorry about that, the software that im using is....dvd2one, copy to dvd and dvd decrypter. i use dvd decrypter first and extract the files to a folder, then i open dvd2one and select the files and check burn files with copy to dvd. it starts to extract and thats when i get the message. the software that i get the message with is the copytodvd. but i have also tried different software like nero and clonedvd and a few others but they are all doing the same thing. what i mean by finish my dvd's is that i had started backing up my dvd's i have a huge library of dvd's that i purchased, and i managed to back up about 15 of them on my days off of work and went back to work, i decided when i went on my days off again and i would finish backing the rest of them up. sorry for not giving enough information. if there is anything else u need to know let me know. i'll try to answer as much as i know.

  4. OK, Are you using the latest version of DVDdecrypter, it is 3.5.4.0 ?

If not I would update to this and then get DVDshrink.

Use DVDdecrypter to rip the DVD to a hard drive folder in File mode for a DVD-9 (8.5GB)DVD or ISO Read mode if the original is a DVD-5 (4.7GB).

If the original is a DVD-5 you can then burn the ISO image straight to DVD-/+R with DVDdecrypter in ISO write mode.

If the original is a DVD-9 movie you can then use DVDshrink to compress/reauthor the movie to fit to a DVD-/+R(4.7GB).
Backup the shrink created DVD to an ISO image and then burn with DVDdecrypter.

I would recommend that if you are unfamiliar with either DVDshrink or DVDdecrypter that you spend a little while checking out the guides section on the left of this page - there you will find many guides on how to use both of these excellent pieces of software.
I use these all the time and never have any probs.

Your best bet would be to check out the DVD backup guide section.

You can also find some good DVDshrink guides at www.dvdshrink.info.

Give it a try, and if you need any more help just ask

And always use DVDdecrypter to rip your original DVD's as it can handle the new copy protection schemes better than DVDshrink can.

DVDdecrypter and DVDshrink are also FREE and produce great results so why spend your money on software when you dont need to.

  7. Ok, at what stage did you get this error ?
Are you using DVDdecrypter to burn or are you using Nero - the reason I ask is that at the start of the error there is a reference to Nero ?

I used dvd decrypter to try to burn it and i got the message when it was trying to burn, same time i always get the message. people have told me to make sure the dma settings are right i've done that...i've pretty much tried everything. reinstalling, i also purchased another dvd burner thought maybe it was the burner but now i have 3 burners and they are all doing the same. it was working fine when i first got the software and installed it and one of my coworkers is using the same programs but not having any trouble with them.

  10. Stone1721 just use DVDdecrypter and make sure its the latest version.
Do a search for 'are we there yet' and you will find a few people are having this problem !
Check out those posts for more info !

Meanwhile raggedyann20022002 I'm a little stumped at the moment with this one.
Can you let us know your PC specs, OS, service packs etc.
Have you changed anything on the PC since your burning process was working ok ?
Have you tried using different media ?

Has anyone else had a problem similar to this ? If so can you help ?

  11. Take a look at the DVDdecrypter support forum, you may find some help there,

    Here's the link, http://forum.dvddecrypter.com/

By the way is your DVDwriter firmware up to date ?
If it isn't I would suggest getting the latest firmware and always keep it up to date.
