I know how to create a graphic layer mask in Vegas, from grafic file (save in png format) but I want to know if it's possible (I'm sure it is) to create mask from video file, with transparent hole in the middle. Some time ago, I found on internet how to create such a layer mask using vizualisations from windows media player (save it with some programm grab in avi file) and then produce a layer mask, but it was for premiere. If somebody know how to create such a mask in Vegas please post reply.
Regards, Macedonia.

if i understand correctly, you just want a 'hole' in a video so that another video can play through?
just use the cookie cutter FX and you can size the shapes available and add feather to it.
or if you're on version 5 or 6, you can use the bezier mask to draw your custom shape.
