Is your movie a copy or back up? Because all dvds come with a default dd sound track just for that purpose.

  3. If its a backup you may need to do it again, but this time include a second audio channel such as a 2 or 6 channel ac3 stream(Dolby Digital).

I recently read that some DVD players will not process DTS if that is the only audio channel on the disc ? and they need a second audio channel alongside them (Please correct me if I'm wrong !)

One other basic thing is - do you have a receiver/DVD player capable of processing DTS audio.

I would like to mention that I have backed up certain DVD's with just the DTS audio track on them and they are fine, but I have a top end Pioneer DVD player and Receiver which are capable of processing the DTS track.

Hope this is of help to you

Sorry, just re-read your post and see that you dont have DTS compatability - but maybe this helps anyway

Generally, disks that appear to have only DTS audio will have a silent AC3 track in track one to overcome copatability issues. Assuming you have only DTS to work with, you need to

    1. Demux the DTS track and video from the authored disk
    2. Seperate the DTS track into 6 discrete mono wav files
    3. Re-encode the 6 mono wav files into an AC3 5.1 audio file
    4. Reauthor the disk to put the audio back with the video.
    5. Test thoroughly for audio sync problems before burning.

How you do each of these steps depends on what software you have available - look in the guides section to your left for specifics.
