Is there a simple tool out there to analyze basic characteristics of a video file such as size (720x480, etc), resolution (6000, etc), frame rate (25, etc)? Particullarly I am trying to do this for mpeg2 files but to be able to do this with avi files would also be nice.
Thanks in advance for the info.

For MPEG (1 or 2), I've been using Manzanita's MPEG ID alot lately.
PVA Strumento is good, ReStream is good--even if you aren't going to change the settings.
