i havent encounter this problem until recently.
Whenever i used vobsub to display the subtitles for my movies (.avi with .smi file and .ogg), 2 setences of the same sub appears. One appear on the movie itself and the other appear at the black space juz below the movie.
The extra sentence that appear at the black space has words that are of different font than the ones on the movie. It doesnt help when i maximise the movie either and i try playing around int the direct vobsub configure but to no avail. Please help!!

do you have ffdshow installed(it can be installed with a codec pack)? it can also show subs. disable one of them.

    or maybe vobsub and vsfilter.

i do not have ffdshow but i may have VSfilter installed. However, i did try to removed by searching for vsfilter.dll and deleting it. Is this method correct?? i cant find vsfilter from add/remove program in control panel either.

It seems to be something else than vsfilter(it should be on the video then). Tried some other video player?

Tried Play->Captions and Subtitles->Off in Windows Media Player ?

Did u happen to come out with that soltuion?? Haha!
It works by switching the subtitle off in WMP and it left with the subtitles on the movie only!
but what im curious is y does it work and where is that subtitle coming from anyway??
